Ledgerdock / Privacy
Ledgerdock privacy policy
Ledgerdock keeps everything in your own browser. It has no account, no server and no analytics, so there is nothing for us to collect, sell or lose.
What it sends
Nothing
The extension makes no network requests of its own. It doesn't send your data to Ledgerbrook or anyone else, and it loads no remote code; its fonts and icons ship inside it. It doesn't sell or share data, use it for advertising, or use it to decide anyone's credit.
Two things open a page on ledgerbrook.com: a welcome page in a new tab when you install it, and a short goodbye page when you remove it. Those are ordinary web pages, covered by the Ledgerbrook site privacy policy. The extension passes them nothing about you or your books.
The help link in the panel opens Ledgerdock support with the extension's version number in the address, so a bug report says which version it came from. Nothing reaches us unless you send the form there. If you do, we keep what you typed, your email address and your browser's name and version, only to answer you.
What it reads
Only the QuickBooks Online page you're on
It runs only on qbo.intuit.com. There it reads the page address, the page title, the company name, ID and date format, and, on transaction forms, the date you type, to check it against the close date. It doesn't read transaction amounts, bank details or customer records, and it never saves, submits or deletes anything in QuickBooks.
What it stores
In your browser, and nowhere else
- Notes you write, and the page and company each one belongs to.
- Favorites, recently opened pages and which results you pick in search, so the useful ones rise to the top.
- The names and IDs of the companies you open, so the panel can switch between them.
- A company's close-the-books date, read when you open its Advanced settings page, for the closed-period warning.
- Pages a company doesn't have, so search stops offering them.
- Your settings and any shortcuts you change.
All of it lives in your browser's extension storage on this computer. It doesn't sync to your other devices, and nobody else can see it. Settings has an export button that saves everything to a file you keep, and an import that reads that file back.
Removing the extension deletes all of it. Export first if you want to keep your notes.
Permissions
What it asks for, and why
- Read and change your data on qbo.intuit.com
- To add the search box, the shortcuts, the closed-period warning and the report drilldowns to QuickBooks Online pages. It reads the page you're on; it never changes your books.
- Storage
- To keep your notes, favorites, recent pages, shortcut choices and settings in your browser.
- Side panel
- To show the Ledgerdock panel next to the page in Chrome and Edge.
- Tabs
- To list your open QuickBooks Online tabs in the panel and switch between them. It looks only at tabs on qbo.intuit.com.
