Ledgerbrook / Referral program
Bookkeeping referral program
Refer a business, earn its first month
Know a business whose books are behind, or a firm with more files than people? Introduce them. Once they've completed two paid months of monthly bookkeeping with us, you're paid their first month's fee in cash: $99 or $199, depending on the size of their file.
Open to anyone. No sign-up, no quota, and the business you refer pays the same published price as everyone else.
Both open an email to omkar@ledgerbrook.com. Write to that address from any mail client if the buttons don't.
How it works
Three steps, one payout
The payout
What you're paid
The same figure the business pays for its first month of bookkeeping, set by the size of its file.
Frequently asked
The rules, in full
Who can refer?
Anyone. Business owners, bookkeepers, CPAs, tax preparers, consultants, existing clients. You don't need to be a client yourself, and there's nothing to sign up for before your first introduction.
How much is the payout?
The first month's monthly bookkeeping fee of the business you referred: $99 if their file is in the Standard band (up to 3 accounts, up to 200 transactions a month), $199 if it's in the High volume band. Paid in cash by ACH or PayPal, within 14 days of their second monthly invoice being paid. If they stop before paying for two months, there's no payout.
Does the business I refer pay more?
No. They pay the same published rates as everyone else on the pricing page. The payout comes out of our side of the first month, not theirs.
What counts as a referral?
A business or firm that isn't already a client or already talking to us, that names you before or when they first get in touch, and that completes two paid months of monthly bookkeeping. If they only need a one-time cleanup or catch-up, there's no payout until they move onto monthly bookkeeping.
How do you know the referral came from me?
Three ways, any one is enough: they pick "A referral from someone" on the contact form and type your name, you copy omkar@ledgerbrook.com on an introduction email, or they arrive through a personal referral link we send you. If two people refer the same business, the first one we heard about gets the payout.
I refer a firm with several client files. How is that paid?
One payout per business or firm you introduce, equal to the first month's fee for the first file they start with us. Their files after that are paid for at the published rates and don't add to the payout.
Will you contact the people I refer without asking?
No. We only reply to the introduction or to them getting in touch. We do bookkeeping and nothing else: no tax returns, no advisory, so referring a client to us doesn't put another accountant between you and them.
Is there paperwork?
Before the first payout we ask where to send it. If you're in the US and your payouts in a calendar year pass the IRS reporting threshold, we'll also ask for a W-9 so we can issue a 1099.
Can the terms change?
They can for future introductions, and this page will say so with a new date. A referral you made under these terms is paid under these terms.
